Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is hopeful James Maddison will sign a new contract with the club soon and end the speculative reports linking him with a move away from the club.
Maddison has reportedly been a target for Manchester United for ages, with some outlet going as far as claiming the attacking midfielder had already made his decision to move to Old Trafford as soon as possible. However, speaking to the press ahead of Leicester s defeat to Norwich City on Friday, Rodgers revealed that Maddison actually wants to be at the King Power Stadium and that there were ongoing talks between the club and Maddison s representatives over a new contract.
The 23-year-old was understandably a topic during the conference, given that he arrived to Leicester from Norwich back in 2018. This was his first time back at Carrow Road, and the home side made sure he wouldn t remember it too fondly as Jamal Lewis struck in the 70th minute to secure the three points for the Canaries.
