Burnley have issued a statement denying that Charlie Austin is close to agreeing a move away from the Lancashire club.
The striker scored 24 goals in 37 games in the Championship last season and his impressive form has not gone unnoticed with reports that newly-promoted Premier League side Hull are on the verge of luring Austin to the KC Stadium.
However, Burnley have played down these rumours and revealed that several clubs have so far shown an interest in a player who was playing non-football league back in 2009.
These reports are wide of the mark, said a statement on Burnley s official website..
Quite understandably there have been enquiries from a number of clubs but none have met Burnley s valuation of the player.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has confirmed that the club s move for Burnley striker Charlie Austin has collapsed due to a failed medical.
Newly promoted Hull have been chasing the services of Austin since they were promoted to the Premier League on the final day of the 2012-13 Championship campaign.
The 24-year-old scored 27 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions for Burnley last term and Hull were reported to have been successful with a £4.5 million bid for the forward last week.
But Austin, who has dislocated his shoulder three times in his career, failed a medical on Monday, Bruce has conceded.
He told talkSPORT: There has been a bit of a problem with his medical, which is the worst scenario for everyone concerned.
It s an awful situation we find …

Right choice for Chelsea?
If Roman Abramovic meant to hire an entertaining driver for his Chelsea bus, he has apparently made a wrong choice.
Contrary to Guus Hiddink, who has been a calming influence at Stamford Bridge, Antonio Conte is likely to stir the emotions once again. Not a stranger to bust-ups with players, Antonio Conte would not hesitate to dress down his players harshly as he fights to contain his own combative, stubborn but undeniably talented nature.
Many would wonder if Chelsea are getting ready to repeat the same error they made with Mourinho and whether Roman Abramovich should have considered offering Guus Hiddink a permanent role.
Conte became the tenth boss under the Russian owner, who has used his friend and confidant Hiddink as a cus…

The 20,000+ Colombia fans in Samara will toast a new hero on Thursday after Yerry Mina s solitary goal sent them through to the last 16 of the World Cup at the expense of Senegal.

Former Germany international Stefan Effenberg said he preferred Mario Mandzukic to Neymar and feels the Croatia star would be worth €200million if he was younger.
Mandzukic, 32, has helped his nation into the World Cup final, including scoring the extra-time winner against England Wednesday.
The forward has scored twice at Russia 2018, having enjoyed another fine season at Juventus.
Former Germany and Bayern Munich star Effenberg said he had no idea why the Bundesliga giants sold Mandzukic in 2014, while revealing he preferred the forward to Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar.
I never understood why Bayern sold him, he wrote for T-Online.
Mandzukic is one of three three best strikers in the world for me. He is working for the team and…
England manager Sam Allardyce has suggested he will attempt to bring veteran Chelsea captain John Terry out of international retirement.
The last of Terry s 78 caps came against Moldova in September 2012 and he quit England duty later that month, before a Football Association (FA) hearing into allegations the 35-year-old racially abused Anton Ferdinand during Chelsea s defeat to QPR in October 2011.
The FA found Terry guilty and handed down a £22,000 fine and a four-match ban despite Westminster Magistrates Court clearing him of the same accusation that July.
Terry has continued to be a strong presence on the field for Chelsea, lifting his fourth Premier League title at Stamford Bridge in 2014-15 and securing a contract extension with the club he has represen…
